All those people who say, "Don't worry, the other person will value for what's inside you" kinda forgot that the other person CAN'T see your inside. You need a reasonably presentable OUTSIDE first. Not fake. But clean, hair and teeth in good shape, et cetera ... so that your inner self has the time to show through, unobscured by the grit. So your advice is spot-on. Heh! problem is, those of us who needed it most starting out might not realize it applied to us. Wish I’d read this when I was first starting out (some decades ago).
