Oh guys. I am in SO much trouble. I was at work today (I am writing at really late o’clock Sunday night) and made a stupid, stupid bet with a coworker and lost. Now I have to buy her boyfriend’s Christmas present. She wants a video game that he hasn’t played yet and he’s into first person shooters and action type games and that is TOTALLY out of my experience. I am TERRIBLE at those games, and frankly I’ve been buried so deep in World of Warcraft lately to even have noticed any…
If you have any suggestions at all, I will be forever grateful. I will, um, I don’t know. Do something awesome for you guys. As soon as I think of something. I’ll owe you big time.

Call of Duty 4 would probably be your best bet, out on all the systems, fairly new, good single player and multiplayer.

CoD4 is a great idea!! So is half-life if they don’t already have it. You have more luck finding HL since it isn’t that new.
I might also recommend Gears of War for XBox 360, or Battlefield 1942 for PC was also a great game.

If he’s an FPS fan, he HAS to have a 360. If he’s into action, Assassin’s Creed is the big news maker. If he somehow has a PS3, spring for Uncharted: Drake’s Journey.

Bioshock for scary retro fps with mutations,
Crysis for near future warfare.
Cod4 for yet another WW2.(though they keep getting better)
The co-worker in question needs to supply more info on systems and what games are left by the pc or game console.

I’d go with COD4 since its fairly new and you need one that hasn’t been played, also Mikallen’s a little off its set in the present day not WW2. BioShock rawks but has been out for a bit. Mayhaps Quake 4 but that has been out for some time so the likelyhood of it not being played is low.

Thanks Schafer for the catch on cod4 -so many games so little time-need to double check when friends casually diss a game (had gotten rather tired of ww2era stuff).Another older game to check for Rainbow 6 Vegas. It does tactial combat and cover rather well.

Hmm… sounds like Playstation 3 games are a good choice, according to my co-worker, but he also has a 360 and is scouting for Wii’s. I said good freaking luck on that. That is something with which I can’t help.
